Sometimes, when we take pictures, the result-image can produce the so-called “red-eye effect” — wherein the subject’s eyes will appear to have red circles around its pupils. The cause of this is when the camera’s flash is in very close proximity to the subject. Red-eyes is usually prevalent when the flash is used in non-directional illumination or when the photographer does not use any open light, such as the sun or a spot light.
