Windows Live Movie Maker is a fun application that is part of the Windows Live suite of applications that Microsoft has developed to give users the ability to jazz up videos to make them look more professional. Unfortunately, there is still no way to create animation in Windows Live itself however.

The GNU Image Manipulation Program, is a free program that does most, if not all, of the things that can be done using Photoshop, which is great. The down side though is that a lot of people find GIMP a little difficult to use, which is too bad, because once you get used to how things work, GIMP is well worth the time invested.
